For landscape photography, I was able to endure a lot of years. In the initial stage of becoming a photographer, I had a lot travel at least a few hundred kilometers from home and walk a few dozen kilometers to get some sensible photo. After years, I noticed that the landscapes are really among us and we do not need to “go around” them. Presented photos were taken 30 m near my home.
Landscape is after all a concept (name). It can be treated as a concrete name – then each view outside the window will wear this name. However, it can be treated as an abstract name (after Polish Philosopher Tadeusz Kotarbinski). Then we generate a corresponding designate, just like that from the head, if only the eyes register some horizon.
The horizontal line, shape and distribution of spots and, additionally, the closure in the frame of the picture, give a clear association with the classical landscape.
If I add a specific title to this: By the Sea, The Meadow, The Early Spring, Fields, etc., I direct the recipient towards a specific visual experience. I manipulate him to see what I want, regardless of what is actually photographed.
